Key Points:

  • The challenge runs for 31 days with a 100-mile target (feel free to exceed it).
  • Registration is open now; the first 250 sign-ups get limited-edition glow-in-the-dark sunglasses.
  • You’ll collect badges at each milestone: 20-mile loop, 40-mile, 60-mile, 80-mile, 100-mile, plus ambitious marks at 200, 300, and 500 miles.
  • Weekly Misfit Games add spice: “Hot Start” (three consecutive days of running), “Summit Selfie”, “Loop Repeats” (run a 1-mile section repeatedly), and a creative GPS-Art challenge.
  • Community is central — log your miles on RunSignUp, share updates on Instagram @aravaiparunning, and tag the event.

Workout Example:

  1. Week 1 – Hot Start: Three runs of 5 miles each (15 mi total). Log every single one.
  2. Week 2 – Summit Selfie: Pick a local peak and do a hill repeat (2 mi up, 2 mi down) three times; that’s about 12 miles.
  3. Week 3 – Loop Repeats: Find a 1-mile loop and complete as many laps as possible in 30 minutes (aim for 8–10 laps, roughly 10 mi).
  4. Week 4 – GPS-Art: Run out a shape on the map (a “V”, heart, or similar) to total around 8 miles.
  5. Remaining days: Work toward 100 miles by mixing steady runs, hitting badge targets, and playing with whichever challenges sound good to you.
